The weather was cold and frozen, everything at the YWCA had been cancelled tonight except for karate because so many people called to see if they were closed. The crowd was small… only 8 students,
We ran the class through a test preparation class, where we covered basics and kata. The new white belt boy was able to pick up his kata after only being through it around 3 times, and he’s doing really well at it. That’s pretty impressive, considering it took me a LONG time to get all the turns right.
We even had enough time before the end of the first class to have each of the test candidates get out in front of everyone and do their own kata. We provided some pointers to each person and then we packed it in so the YWCA staff could get out of there before the worst of the storm hit.
Before the class, I elected to help Mike finish out the last 7 Meikyo for this month. It was fun, and a nice departure from the extreme volumes of Sochin.
