Up next on the docket of household annoyances that need to get fixed: more plumbing!
With our current bathroom situation, we have been relegated to using our secondary bathrooms as primary ones. Tasha had a houseful of her friends over last night for a jewelry party, so I headed to the upstairs bathroom to take care of some business.
While perched atop my lofty throne, I noticed that the tub faucet was leaking water at a fair pace. At some times it was similar to a light stream coming from the faucet. It remained after I tightened the knobs fully, and after some Googling I am convinced that it is the rubber washers that seal the knobs to the water lines. Tasha said that it had been doing this for weeks that she knew of, but it did seem to be getting worse for some reason.
This is a fairly quick fix for most plumbers, however it requires some tools that I do not currently have and I figure that I could either attempt to fix it myself, break something and fail like I did with my kitchen faucet, or make a preventative plumbing call to have them come and fix the whole shebang and do it correctly.
I also found out that my uncle enjoys doing plumbing repairs like this, I’m trying to find out if he’d be willing to come over and have a crack at it before the plumber does. It is unknown to me if he knows how to fix our leaky/wobbly toilet from the master bathroom, but at any rate it would be a reduction in effort and some extra knowledge on the matter if he comes and looks first.
Between these two plumbing problems it probably explains my $47 water bill last month… lets hope it goes down a little this month!
