The differences in Arby’s…

I have a complaint, one that I have levied to the fine folks over at Arby’s Restaurants.  It seems that my hometown Arby’s in Pekin, IL is distinguished for a single reason: this location appears to be the only restaurant left  that has regular fries.  All of the other Arby’s west of the Mississippi that I have visited seem to have nasty, greasy potato cakes to take their place or the standard curly fries which I haven’t liked since I was a kid.  My biggest complaint with this is it makes me feel like I’m eating breakfast with my sandwich, since the potato cakes replicate very closely McDonald’s or Hardee’s hash browns.  And I don’t like it one bit.

Maybe I’ve just had bad luck picking Arby’s.  Maybe right around the corner is a like-minded Arby’s which still has regular fries to compliment my favored French Dip and Swiss sandwich.  But I’m not holding out much hope.  So instead, I will be ordering only the sandwich from Arby’s and completing my combo using some other restaurant’s regular fries.
