Well, by some strange alignment of the stars that I don’t fully understand, Saturday’s blog post captured the attention of someone over at Comcast. After an email with the required information, they escalated the issue and got my router back into the state it was on Friday night.
I’ve been doing some further testing, and it appears that I am intermittantly dropping packets like crazy. I replicated this from all of the computers on the network, it was still happening when wired only less significantly. I sent these findings back to Comcast to see if there’s anything else they can do. I’m beginning to wonder if the ol’ Linksys router is going out, but maybe Comcast will come back with some additional ideas.
Also, Comcast representatives: HOW IN THE WORLD did you find my blog? I’m glad you did, but the fact it took 2.5 days still speaks to an underlying problem in your support process. Let’s see how well we can sort out this router issue and then I’ll go back to being a docile member of your telecommunications empire.
