Today we got 15.3″ of snow! I made it to work successfully, but a black SUV in front of me did a 180 in front of me. I got to work and found that most of the people that lived up in the High Country didn’t come in, and the office was pretty dead. Then the email came that said that the office was closing and noon and would open in “late morning”. I wasn’t going to wait around, as my Saturn doesn’t know how to continue living in that much snow.
So I started my 3.2 mile trek back home around 9:30 am and I rolled in to the house at 10:15. It took me about 10 tries to get up my driveway, and it took me getting as far into my drive as I could, shovelling out part way, and then making a running go at it to get my car back into the garage.
The news tonight tells us that they expect planes to be going “as normal” tomorrow morning, so we have to get up very early and get Erin to the airport. I’m going to go with Tasha so she has someone to drive back with on the questionable roads, so its going to be an early morning tomorrow. The snow is starting to let up, so I’m going to finish this and go shovel my driveway and sidewalk so I don’t get fined. That’s right, they fine you here if you don’t shovel your drive and sidewalk within 24 hours of snow ending. At least this way the drive will be mostly clear to get out tomorrow morning.
