The mood around the office today was one of resigned but diligent energy. I got a few major tasks done but collectively it wasn’t enough to get everything in by our deadline, so some work gets to bleed over into next week. At the very least, the coming of Friday put everyone in a better mood so it was comparatively lower stress than the rest of the month has been.
Tonight was date night, so Tasha and I went out for quick dinner followed by a movie. We saw No Strings Attached with Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman. It was pretty good! Tasha and I opted to hit the 7:40 showing so we didn’t have to wait until the 10 pm movie, and it wasn’t a digital showing. At the start, I didn’t think that this was going to bother me much but shortly after the previews began it became painfully obvious how dependent I have become on high definition and digital films. Watching the “normal” film offering reminded me of watching a movie about two years after my eyes needed to be checked. It wasn’t a real deterrent, I still enjoyed the show but I was amused at the difference that I could see.
I’m happy to say that the office is disappearing into my rearview mirror already this weekend, hopefully the rest the weekend continues down this path. More soon!
