Last night’s dream was very much of the action-adventure genre. Some of the details are sketchy, but I remember that the cohesion of events of this dream was astounding to me even as I was having this one.
I remember a gigantic storm, which destroyed most of the large oak tree that sits in front of my house. Most of the neighborhood was laid to waste, and a very large share of our tree fell firmly into my neighbors house, so dramatically so that I was immediately compelled to go and help search for survivors.
In the process of searching for people that survived the wreck, I found a small chest with some strange metal spheres that had this weird arcane writing on them. I had no idea what they said, but I was driven to find out.
I then went to the only bastion of information that Pekin has available, Pekin Public Library. Somehow I was able to figure out that this was ancient religious runes, and I had to take it back to this specific church in the middle of nowhere.
Apparently, the middle of nowhere is right behind my ruined neighbors house. The church was very large and gothic looking, and had some large concrete slabs near the altar that had similar runes to these spheres that I was holding. I approached, then all of a sudden the runes on the slabs and the runes on the spheres started glowing like the One Ring from Lord of the Rings and the words miraculously made sense to me.
It was some sort of ancient trap, in poem form. I can’t remember the verse, but it was something to the effect of idle hands will get destroyed, and if these spheres didn’t get returned to where they belonged I would get killed or destroyed or something.
Since this church was really close to the neighbors house, I thought this should be easy, but there was this strange lake with a makeshift fanboat from the Louisiana bayou on it. So I had to speed across this lake, make two attempts to run aground in the right spot, and then race over to the house.
As I approached, I noticed that the chest was sitting on this pedestal, and these two spiked walls were closing on it. I knew that if I didn’t get these spheres back in the chest, I would have problems. So I ran over there, threw them in quite easily, and then the walls crushed the whole getup. Some victory music played from somewhere, my dad came out on the front steps to yell at me about mowing the lawn, and I woke up.
Needless to say, that was one of the weirdest ones ever.
