The last few days have been spent in constant struggle with PHP sessions. At 10 pm last night, I became aware that our server does things strangely (BIG shock there) and I had to change many of my production files to .sphp in order to make them owned properly. This was the end result of about six hours on the phone with our server admin Fred, who was equally befuddled that PHP stored anything on the server to maintain a session.
At least the hours were billable, so I will get paid in the end. Hooray for open-ended contract jobs!
Tonight I get to level my scripting skills against VRML’s animation nodes, which will prove to be a bastardly foe, since it has skulked in the netherregions of web standards for the last 10 years and I’m sure is quite surly by now. I’ve been putting this off since last week, but I’ve got until Thursday to get it whipped before I have to turn it in.
After I got that problem resolved, me and a few buddies proceeded to watch the last few episodes of the Family Guy DVDs… I was quite sad to see them pass, since that means no more new episodes, ever. That is, unless this article is true. I particularly enjoyed the special feature where we got to see Seth Macfarlane do the voices that he contributes to the show. Voice actors are quite cool.
I’m off to do something worthwhile before my useless meeting at 10.
