Karate was good tonight. The first class consisted of basics and splitting into groups for kata. I had a group of two red belts and a blue belt, which is always a logistical nightmare to try to count properly for both katas. Tina-san is a little tank, for being such a small girl. She was dodging and weaving around the torrent of white belts that were uncoordinatedly crashing into our groups due to the crowding of the room.
They’re doing well, my only complaint was that one of the red belts was breathing way too loudly, and the other had very little to no discernable stance. They were receptive to my suggestions, and their katas didn’t look that bad. Tina-san’s kata looked good, she reminds me very much of Ains when she was that age.
I have no idea why, but everyone keeps asking me if I’m getting nervous about the wedding getting close. Hell no, I’m not nervous! Why should I be? I know what Tasha’s going to say, I have nothing but good to gain from it, and most of the plans are done. I’m actually more nervous about the notion of getting Tasha’s fractured family in the same room together, but I know the Kumite of Reckoning would befall anyone that tries to cause trouble at the wedding. If the unskilled groomsmen can’t duff them, I’m sure my skilled Awesome Friends in the crowd can annihilate them.
After Karate tonight, I was supposed to go over to my cousin and best man John’s to make some decisions regarding my bachelor party (we’ve elected to move it from gambling to something a little less loss-of-cash oriented), but he elected to go and screw some coed tonight, so we’re going to make those plan changes on Thursday. Tasha and I spent the rest of the night organizing her shower gifts into region (kitchen, bathroom, etc) so we can move them more easily. Pretty fun stuff.
We now have more Pyrex kitchen equipment that all of Luxembourg, and I have a feeling we’re only going to get more. I have yet to determine if this is a good thing, but time will tell.
